Happy St. Patty's Day!

The first year of Lily's life has really turned into quite a blur. Thank goodness for baby books and family blogs! I do believe that this was Lily's first St Patrick's Day parade. Winter Park has an annual parade, and this happened to be the first year that we attended. Lily's Grandma & Papa also came with us.

Canyon, on the other hand, opted out of this event. I'm thinking that after about an hour of our family being gone, he may have actually wished that he DID come with us to the parade. Scot received a phone call from a frantic Canyon that he had hurt himself "really bad". He was doing a pull up on the chin up bar in the doorway, the bar came loose and he plummeted to the ground and landed on his knee. Right on the metal door strip that separates the office & laundry room. He was bleeding and couldn't straighten his leg. Not to mention he had hit so hard that he dented the metal stripping! At one point, we actually thought we were going to have to leave and come home to check in his injury. Fortunately, he worked it all out...and a little ice pack to the knee did wonders!
Living downtown in Delaney Park when Canyon was younger, was a fantastic place to be. Especially during St. Patty's Day! The parade down Orange Avenue was HUGE...they even allowed drinking on the streets (of green beer of course!). Unfortunately that tradition was cute short, as they eventually were unable to find a sponsor for that mammoth parade, and the annual celebration as we knew it...was over. Oh Blarney!

This year, Lily had her first taste of "catching candy" and listening to the bagpipers. She was amazed and loved every minute of it - especially the green balloon!
